What am I to do with you my heart?

My stubborn, stubborn heart

That rogue which wants what it wants

That loves whom it wants to love

My wanting heart

My desperate heart

My stubborn, stubborn heart

What am I to do with you my heart?

I cannot trust my own heart

Because it will not heed warning

Nor will it listen to reason

Unruly heart

Naïf heart

Such a stubborn heart

What am I to do with you my heart?

So uncompromising, my heart

Steadfast when all is hopeless

Yet inconstant where there is promise

Foolish heart

Insufferable heart

My stubborn, stubborn heart

What am I to do with you my heart?

My stubborn, stubborn heart

Held captive and incurable

Unflinching in its devotion

Let go my heart

My broken heart

Forget! My stubborn heart
